Garçon Style

This month's look recalls the classic French garçon style of the Forties. The look is very dramatic and emphasizes the form of the face.

Face Shape
This look is ideal for heart, round, and oval shaped faces, as the long bangs somewhat "shorten" the face.

Cut
Long along the neck and bangs. Longer at the sides and shorter around the ears.

Colour

The garçon look is made even more dramatic when paired with a dark shade of hair colour. Note: Select a shimmering black (e.g. from Poly Brilliance) only if you are a light skin type with a healthy complexion.

Styling
Work styling mousse into towel-dried hair. Blow dry hair upwards over a round brush. To bring out the dark colour, apply shine hairspray for hold (e.g., from Drei Wetter Taft). Spray hairstyle from a distance of about 20 cm.

Makeup
Apply dark eye makeup in grey or black shades. Make sure that eyebrows are not too light—colour, if needed, and then shape. For daytime, emphasize lip with caramel shades. For the evening, apply a rich red.
