MIRROR, MIRROR ON THE WALL, WHO HAS THE FAIREST FACE OF ALL?

When the cold winter months set in, it is especially important to give your face a little extra attention. After all, it is constantly subjected to the bitter cold and dry air.
Here we show you how to keep your skin looking youthfully fresh and healthy – and also pamper yourself in the process:

Applying skin cream

It's not only about “smearing” some cream over your face. Your skin has special needs when it comes to replenishing moisture and applying cream.

The forehead

Over time, certain facial expressions can cause wrinkles. The forehead in particular is a prime location for so-called “worry lines,” which come from furrowing the brow. Begin by applying skin cream above the eyebrows, spreading it horizontally from right to left and then from left to right across the brow. In so doing, you can gently smooth out wrinkles with each application.

The eye area

The skin around the eyes is especially thin and sensitive. It tends to develop tiny fine lines very early. Therefore, it is important to give this area special care. Be gentle when applying cream; otherwise you may instead amplify existing lines. Begin at the bridge of the nose and apply the product by softly tapping the skin with your ring finger using circular motions. Ideally, you should use a skin cream specially formulated for around the eyes, such as from Diadermine. An eye cream will strengthen the supporting tissue and smooth the skin surface.

The cheeks

The skin around the cheeks tends to be dry – particularly in winter. Therefore make sure to supply it with intensive moisture (e.g., from the Diadermine care line). First apply the cream at mouth level. From there, distribute it using only light pressure, from the middle of your face toward the ears.

The neck and décolleté

Don’t forget about your neck and décolleté! This area should also be a regular part of your skin care regime. Spread the cream in even strokes away from your face and towards the décolleté. Try a moisturizing and skin-firming cream that is specially formulated to nourish replenish this skin area (we recommend: Diadermine).

In order to calm the skin – and for you to relax – we recommend finishing your skin care regime with simple face massage. Your skin will feel pampered, and this will also help the skin care products to work more effectively. Through the massage, skin circulation is improved and your skin will regain its healthy, smooth and beautiful complexion.

Face massage

To help you relax, first stimulate your relaxation points. Begin by grasping your right eyebrow with your thumb and index finger. Then run your fingers over your brow, gently pinching the skin. Repeat with the left eyebrow. Be sure to relax your face as you do this exercise.

The forehead

Next, it is time to massage the forehead. Place both the index and middle fingers onto the forehead. Now massage the area between the eyebrow and hairline using relatively small circular motions. Note: Make sure to apply only gentle pressure.

The temples

It’s now time to massage the temples. Use your middle fingers to massage this area. Move your fingers over the temples in tight circular movements. Make sure you use only very light pressure, as the skin here is particularly thin and sensitive.

The Cheeks

To relax your cheek area, place your middle and index fingers on each cheekbone. Now massage lightly the cheek with small circular movements. You may also want to massage a moisturising product into the skin as you do this exercise.

The Chin

Form “scissors” with your thumbs and index fingers. Grasp your chin between these and then move your thumb and forefinger towards the ear on each side, applying light pressure. Then move back again the in same way, this time using the thumb and forefinger to massage.

The Ears

Even your ears could use a little pampering. Starting at the earlobes, massage the entire ear between your thumb and index finger with circular motions moving up the ear. Afterwards, place your thumbs just before each ear and stroke the skin moving downwards with your thumbs.
