ESCAPE EVERYDAY STRESS THROUGH YOGA
| As you rush from one appointment to the next, it is sometimes hard to keep your cool. Here only one thing can help: taking time to relax. People in Asian countries can serve as great role models, because they take time out to relax and restore their energy—through yoga. Here we have brought together three simple yoga exercises that you can do easily do at home. Allow yourself time for inspiration and indulge yourself!
1st Exercise: Let go |
| Lie on your back, place your legs at an angle and rest your arms next to your body. Your feet should rest apart at hip-length. Breathe in through your nose and into your abdomen. Now lift your back and pelvis, at the same time extending your arms back over your head until they rest on the ground. When breathing out, lower your pelvis back to the ground and place both arms one at a time back alongside to your body. Repeat this exercise for one minute, paying attention to the rhythm of your breathing.
2nd Exercise: Concentrate |
| This exercise calls for you to maintain your balance. Your breathing should again be in through your nose and into your abdomen. Stand upright, tilt under the base of the pelvis and bring your right foot up to your buttocks. Then grasp this foot with your right hand and gently draw it backwards and upwards. Make sure that your hips stay straight. Extend your left arm straight upwards. Switch your supporting leg and repeat the exercise three times on each side.

3rd Exercise: Relieve Stress |
| Sit upright in the lotus position and breathe in deeply through your nose and into your abdomen. Then extend your right arm forwards, then upwards. Then bend the arm to place your hand between your shoulder blades. Raise your left arm—first forwards and then upwards, then grasp your right elbow with your left hand. When your arm gets tired, lower it and the repeat the exercise three times, alternating your arms.
