October 2006: womensnet is named "Top Beauty & Wellness Site" in the Web-Adress-Buch 2007


There are now more than 8 million websites in Germany alone. So how can one maintain an overview of all this depth? That's why one book is published yearly to narrow down and give structure to the vast web. The editors of the “Web-Adress-Buch für Deutschland 2007” tested and evaluated 250,000 websites and singled out the 6,000 best and most important. Womensnet is not only listed in the Web Address Book among the “most important sites”, but it was also named the “Top Beauty & Wellness Site.”

 

 

JANUARY 2005: 1ST PLACE AND BEST OVERALL SCORE OF “VERY GOOD” FOR WOMENSNET IN STUDY, “KOSMETIK ONLINE 2005”


In a study by the Institute netaspect, published in the January issue of “Kosmetik Online 2005,” 18 websites were judged according to 20 test criteria between September to November 2004.

Womensnet was the only website to receive a rating of “very good” and was thus awarded the designation “Best Cosmetics Website.”

Three websites were judged as “good,” and 13 received a rating of “satisfactory.” One website was graded as only “adequate.”

 

 

The testers gave the information and advice portal from Schwarzkopf & Henkel—available to consumers in its new format since 2002 and now with a new and improved design—grades of either “very good” or “good” in all categories.

Closely examined in the study were the following criteria: ability to be located by search engines, how often the information is updated, the opportunities for contact with other users, speed of response to emails, response to requests concerned terms of use and data protection, load speed of web pages, technical implementation, clarity and comprehensibility, design, navigation structure, multimedia offerings, ability to reach its target audience, product information, online shopping, links to suppliers, advice services, editorial content, corporate presentation, newsletter, and interactivity.

From the overall evaluation: “The womensnet page was recently able to improve itself drastically and earned the best overall test score (1.4). As the best cosmetic site of the study, the website receives the best score 11 times. In the categories navigation, structure, as well as clarity and comprehensibility, the site was the only one to earn the top grades… Registered users receive a multitude of options for advice and interactive offerings in the Community area… Since the last study, the site now offers the user many new multimedia offerings, which provide good added value and thus the incentive to visit the site again and again.”

 

 

SEPTEMBER 2004: VITAL NAMES WOMENSNET ONE OF THE BEST BEAUTY ADDRESSES ON THE INTERNET


“Those who want to be beautiful must click,” writes the magazine Vital. A study by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Internet Research in Hamburg has shown that a third of all internet users search specifically on the web for information and advice about beauty. “But which of the beauty companies are worth checking out online?” Vital posed this question, testing internet sites and their advice offerings, as well as submitting questions via email. In the end, the seven best were selected.


The results:

Womensnet counts among the best on the internet! In particular, womensnet impressed Vital with its extensive topic areas and site layout. According to Vital: “Those who surf here are guaranteed not to run out of material.”

Womensnet has once again been included in the latest Freundin special edition of job@business. After listing the site’s numerous features and offerings, job@business once again came to this conclusion: worthy of a visit, a successful site with new content every month—informative, useful, and fun. Well recommended.

MARCH 2004: WOMENSNET NAMED A TOP ADDRESS FOR BEAUTY, COSMETICS AND LIFESTYLE IN THE SPECIAL EDITION OF FREUNDIN, “JOB@BUSINESS”


The Freundin special edition, “Job@business 1/2004,” contained a “webguide” with useful links for one’s daily work routine and career. In both work and private life, the internet has become an absolutely essential source of information. In the “selection of helpful addresses” for fashion and styling, womensnet was pronounced a top address for those interested in cosmetics, beauty and lifestyle: “Conclusion: competent, useful, fun. Highly recommended.”

SEPTEMBER 2003: WOMENSNET RANKS #1 IN A COMPARISON TEST BY “KOSMETIK INTERNATIONAL”


Womensnet took first place in an international test comparing women’s websites in the September edition of Kosmetik International magazine. The information and advice website from Schwarzkopf & Henkel was compared with womenweb.de from Germany, substance.com and ivillage.com from the U.S.A. and beautynet.com from Canada.

SEPTEMBER 2003: WOMENSNET RECEIVES HIGHEST GRADE OF “GOOD” IN EXPERT STUDY, “KOSMETIK ONLINE 2003”


In the expert study from the Netaspect institute, “Kosmetik Online 2003,” 18 cosmetic websites in all were tested from July to September 2003 according to 20 test criteria. Only 4 sites scored “good.” 14 received the grades “satisfactory” and “adequate.”


Womensnet.de/.at was ranked for the first time among the four “positive exceptions” (quote: institute), earning the best score of “good.” The testers gave the internet information and advice portal from Schwarzkopf & Henkel, which has been available to consumers in its new format since 2002, the grades “good” and “very good” on the basis of the following criteria: design, navigation structure and clarity, comprehensibility, editorial content, how well it is kept up-to-date, ability to be located by search engines, opportunities for contact with other users, interactivity, ability to reach its target audience, as well as technical implementation.


From the overall evaluation:

“The womensnet website was rated in this study as the third best website overall. The site was particularly convincing through its extensive editorial content, good web design and ease of navigation. The site is also very easy to find through internet search engines and well implemented technically. It has a clear layout and offers (registered users) several interactive offerings, such as a forum or chat room, next to a multitude of consultation offerings. […] Overall, the site has greatly improved since the last test in the study, “Kosmetik Online 2001,” and offers registered users an abundance of interesting and entertaining information.”

Top or flop? Where can I find the best information about a particular topic? In the list of best internet offerings about cosmetics, Computer Bild awarded womensnet the best grade of “good.”


They were particularly impressed with its broad spectrum of topics, many tips regarding beauty and skin care, as well as with its easy navigation.

OCTOBER 2003: WOMENSNET GOES TO UNIVERSITY


Womensnet now also pursues an academic track: Our website was the subject of an academic study at the Fachhochschule Düsseldorf. Various test subjects were closely observed and interviewed while browsing our site. A special camera even recorded the eye movements of test subjects. The goal of the examination was to determine whether all elements of our site are easy to understand and whether their function is easily discernable.


The results were very good. Particularly positive was the category “Consulting” - which made us very happy, of course. After all, providing you with advice is one of our main tasks! The testers also rated our texts as comprehensible, entertaining, and modern, and our authors as competent- an accolade we gladly accept! The navigation and pictures also struck the testers as positive.


Of course, there were also suggestions and ideas for improvements. We will take them all to heart and make sure that womensnet becomes even better.
